During the first week of November, Mista Matt and T-Bo are heading to Hollywood, CA to meet with two different major labels. They will also be attending AFM (American Film Market), which has grown steadily to become the global marketplace where Hollywood’s decision-makers all gather under one roof. Over 8,000 industry leaders converge in for eight days of deal-making, screenings, seminars, red carpet premieres, networking and parties. Participants come from over 70 countries and include acquisition and development executives, agents, attorneys, directors, distributors, festival directors, financiers, film commissioners, producers, writers, the world’s press all those who provide services to the motion picture industry. Unlike a film festival, the AFM is a marketplace where production and distribution deals are closed. In just eight days, more than $800 million in deals will be sealed.
RELEASE DATE: Tues, Oct 30th. DMX, Clifton Powell and Vivica A. Fox star in Father Of Lies. Father Of Lies was produced by HK Pictures and Most Wanted Films; Matt served as Co-Producer. The movie was bought by Code Black and is being distributed through Universal. The movie is an inspirational tale of a well-meaning religious leader whose questionable business decision ignites a shocking scandal. In this year alone, Vivica Fox has had The Salon, Kickin It Old Skool, Motives 2, either play in theaters or released on DVD, and this coming weekend at the American Black Film Festival, two more of her films, Three Can Play That Game and Cover will premiere. As for Clifton Powell, who has overtaken Samuel L. Jackson, for the most films out in a year, he has had Norbit, Confessions Of A Call Girl, and Young Cesar. In the November issue of 225 Magazine there is an article on Lockjaw : Rise Of The Kulev Serpent on page 106. There is also the picture of DMX holding a rocket launcher, which was taken in a cane field. Lockjaw is a horror/sci-fi thriller from K2 Pictures and Most Wanted Films. The movie stars DMX, Wes Brown and Louis Herthum. Props to Jeff Roedel on the write up. The following was taken from the article:
"Filmed on location in Port Allen, the independent sci-fi thriller Lockjaw: Rise Of The Kulev Serpent could see a DVD release as early as this month, according to K2 Pictures. Starring rapper DMX, the film is peppered with plenty of South Lousiana flare - in other words, Voodoo - as a group of campers are thrown into a certain reptillian predicament."
C-Loc has recently released the 5th installment of the Concentration Camp. The group's name has been cut down to Tha Camp and the album is entitled Break It Off!. The album is being released under C-Loc's Camp Life. The first single is "Move Around" and is currently receiving rotation on select stations. Production was done by C-Loc, Howard M., B-Real and many more. Tha Camp is C-Loc, Max Minelli, Young Ready, Reno and Young Crucial. Artwork was provided by Mike Frost. The following is the tracklist for Break It Off!:
