The Trunk Music release date will be announced VERY SOON!!!!! As a reminder, this will be the SEVENTH release from South Coast Coalition. Once Trunk Music drops, look for the S.C.C. to announce upcoming concert dates. "Get Crunk, Wild Out, Thugs Throw Ya Sets Up/ Do The Murder Man Dance, Ambulance Pick Up!!!!!" In late November, the S.C.C. finished up shooting the video for the single, "Murder Man Dance". "Murder Man Dance", which was produced by Chaotic, also features T-Bo and Lil Boosie. The "Murder Man Dance" video will be included on the Trunk Music DVD set to drop in January 2004. The club scenes took place at Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge. Props go out to Chris Comeaux and crew. Look for cameos from Young Bleed, Max Minelli, Mookie, Box, Mike da Hustla, Webbie, Lefty, and many more. We will post more on the video (including video airplay) in next month's news. In the meantime, you can view pics from the video shoot on our FORUM. If you are interested in joining the S.C.C. Street Team, email us at SCC225@aol.com. Be sure to include your name, address, and phone number. As a member, we will send you promotional material once Trunk Music is available. You will receive one sheets, posters, bios, and photos. We ask that you drop off one sheets (order forms) and posters in every record store in your city. All help will be greatly appreciated. If you are also interested in selling CDs, you will receive a cut off of your sales. The S.C.C. & T-Bo aka Deuce & A Quarter are on the cover of the January issue of the hottest new hip-hop publication in the South, Down-South Connected. There also contains a feature story and in-depth interview on Deuce & A Quarter. Props to Frederick Sargent for the well written article, and Darnell with Barricade Graphics for the tight layout. Every issue of Down-South Connected contains feature stories, interviews, album reviews, down south trivia, classifieds, and a prime time dime section. Down-South Connected has a circulation of more than 20,000 copies across the Dirty South! You can pick up a copy at many record stores, barber shops, beauty salons, college campuses, convenience stores, etc. When you order Trunk Music from our STORE page, you will also receive a copy of Down-South Connected! T-Bo is on the December/January cover of Tha Hole Magazine along with Choppa, Crazy, and Slay Sean . Tha Hole Magazine, which is based out of Alabama, hits 8 different states, 75 cities, and over 150 stores. There is a full page interview with T-Bo on page 48. The following is quote from the interview, "Lyrically I don't claim to be the best rapper. Everything I rap about is real. I done seen it or did it. Some talk about things and ain't never seen it or did it." Tha Hole also contains a review on FireCracker - Underground. The following is a quote from the review, "He (T-Bo) featured a gang of folk which adds variety to the CD. He also uses a gang of producers which mixed up his sound which shows he can rap on a variety of beat styles." The S.C.C. & T-Bo aka Deuce & A Quarter will be featured on the next Down-South.com Compilation. The Compilation will be titled First Coast and is scheduled to be released in early 2004. Also, Down-South.com moved up to the #3 in overall hits for rap related sites. DefJam.com remained at #1, and TheSource.com held down the #2 position. Down-South.com receives well over a million hits per month! If you haven't bought Lil Witness's new release, Real Life's Not Fake/Me And Mine, then go get it! After counting up the votes from your emails, the Top 7 songs off of Real Life's Not Fake/Me And Mine are: 1.
"Real Life's Not Fake" The S.C.C. will be featured on Coach Soldjer's debut solo album, In That Water. Mista Matt and B-Rock spit 16 verses each on the title track, "In That Water". The track was produced by Troy, and Autom Simon provided the vocals. Coach Soldjer, a former member of the group Military Ridahz, is the owner of Ghost Face Empire Records. We will post the release date for In That Water once it's set. Also, the S.C.C. and Coach Soldjer will be submitting a song for the Blast Soundtrack. Blast is an upcoming movie starring Eddie Griffin and Tiny "D-Bo" Lister. Knoc, the CEO of Black Mob Entertainment, will be releasing his Mob Ties Compilation in early 2004. More news at a later date. James Tapp, better known as rapper Soulja Slim, was killed on November 26th. New Orleans Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Accardo says the 25-year-old Tapp was shot several times in his mother's front yard on Lafaye Street. Accardo says though police are sure Tapp was the target of the shooting, they don't yet have a motive. Police are investigating a number of leads in the killing, but have yet to charge anyone in connection with the crime. Soulja Slim is featured on Trunk Music. R.I.P. - Soulja Slim aka Magnolia Slim |

As you have already heard, Corey "C-Murder" Miller has been convicted of 2nd degree murder, which carries a mandatory life sentence. The charges stem from a January 2002 incident in which 16-year-old, Steve Thomas, was shot and killed in a Louisiana nightclub. Jurors convicted Miller despite his defense presenting nine witnesses, who said he was not the shooter. Miller's family said they would appeal the verdict. Prayers should be made for all families involved. Be sure to check the interview on Tim Smooth, a New Orleans rap legend, at www.Down-South.com. The interview talks about his past, his meeting with Scarface, his short stay with Rap-A-Lot, and his upcoming album T.I.M - The Invisible Man. Tim Smooth is featured on Trunk Music. Since January, the site traffic for www.SouthCoastCoalition.com has increased by a HUGE margin every single month. Last month, it had the most hits in one month since the site started. We want to thank everyone for their continued support. |

The
South Coast Coalition has been picked to feature their music on
"True Lives". "True Lives" is the next extreme reality
series that will air on Showtime in the Spring of 2003. The
idea is taking a group of people and moving them into a castle in
Hollywood; cameras will follow them around for 3 months
straight. (nothing new) The catch is...Inside the castle are
40 hidden cameras the contestants don't know about. The show is
unedited, so it can't air on basic cable. |
