December 2000

Southern Slang: The Album is in the "mixing" stage and will be finished very soon.  The album features guest appearances from C-Loc, T-Bo, Nero, Heno, Mookie, Mike da Hustla, Lil Witness, and Chaotic.  Most of the production was done by Chaotic and Mr. Clever.

will be mastered by Digital Services in Houston, TXDigital Services has done work for artists such as Scarface, Geto Boys, Ice Cube, Destiny's Child, SPM, etc.

The South Coast Coalition has decided to not sign with WorldWide Records.  Instead, their next album will drop under their own label, Dirty South Productions.  Next month, we will list the guest appearances for S.C.C.'s fourth release, Southern Slang: The Album.



November 2000

The S.C.C., T-Bo, and Mike da Hustla have just finished the remix to "Bad Azz Whiteboyz".  The remix was produced by Mr. Clever for Clever Soundz.  The song also contains an eight bar intro by Cat Daddy, who is a DJ for Max 94.1 in Baton Rouge. Also, T-Bo and S.C.C. have collaborated on another Clever track, "What's Up, What's Happenin". Both tracks will appear on the next S.C.C. album.

October 2000

CONCERT DATE:  Sat, Oct 7th @ Rockets Roadhouse.  The S.C.C. will be performing live along with Lil Witness and Mookie.  The concert will be hosted by K-Slimm.  Doors open at 9PM.

Lil Witness
has dropped a verse, along with B-Rock and Mookie, on the track, "Southbound".  Lil Witness is back in the lab working on a solo album, too.  Look for more collaborations from Lil Witness and S.C.C. in the future.

CONCERT DATE:  Sat, Oct 14th @ Rockets Roadhouse. 
The S.C.C., T-Bo, and Mike da Hustla will be performing live in concert.  Once again, your host will be K-Slimm.  Doors open at 9PM.  This will be the last night that Rockets Roadhouse will be open.



September 2000

CONCERT DATE:  Sat, Sept 9th @ Rockets Roadhouse.  The S.C.C. will be performing live along with T-Bo, Mike da Hustla, Emperah Nero, and Mookie.  During the show, there will be an open mic freestyle contest.  The doors will open at 9PM.

T-Bo
has started recording new material for his first solo album Sex, Murder, and Mayhem.  Look for Mr. Clever to provide a majority of the production.  Mr. Clever produced most of the tracks for Who Dem Boys?.

The S.C.C. and T-Bo have completed an intro track for Cat Daddy.  You can tune in to Max 94.1 every night at 12 to hear the final product. Cat Daddy is on the air from 12-5. 



August 2000

The South Coast Coalition has been offered a 7-year record deal with WorldWide Records.  At this point, they have not signed but are in the process of negotiation.  If signed, the S.C.C. will still retain 100% of its writers' publishing.

In the meantime, the S.C.C. has just started recording for their next project, Southern Slang: The Album.  Due to better quality equipment, all material recorded in the last few months will either be recorded again or thrown out.  This will be the first album that the S.C.C. will have recorded, engineered, and mixed themselves.

July 2000

CONCERT DATE:  Sat, July 14th @ Rockets Roadhouse.  Dirty South Productions presents "Underground Hip Hop Night" @ Rockets in Baton Rouge.  The card will consist of the S.C.C., Someone Called Heno, Steve Austin, and Emcee Willis.  The show will start at 10pm with a $5 admission.

Someone Called Heno
's is still in the recording stage of his new LP, Lost and Confused. The South Coast Coalition is featured on the following four tracks: "Murder: the redruM", "Sometimes", "Ashes-the Remix", and "Visions".

The South Coast Coalition will be featured on the "Baton Rouge Mack (Remix)" with Emperah NeroMista Matt and B-Rock laid down a verse each at Greg Dukes StudioNero produced the track as well.  We will post the release date for Nero's album once it is set.  For those in Baton Rouge or surrounding areas, the number to Greg Dukes Studio is 216-7006.



June 2000

The South Coast Coalition's upcoming CD is about 75% finished.  Twelve of the probable eighteen tracks are recorded and mixed.  At this point, Chaotic (the producer and emcee formerly known as L.G.) has provided three blazin beats for the album.  If anyone in the Louisiana area is looking for super tight beats, email SCC225@aol.com for rates from Chaotic.

Brent Dixon
, who was the producer of "Ashes", has just finished two tracks for Crooked Lettaz.  Crooked Lettaz (David Banner and Kamikaze) are an up and coming group out of Mississippi.



May 2000

CONCERT DATE:  Sat, May 6th @ Rockets Roadhouse.  Hip Hop Night : Part 2!! Dirty South Productions presents the South Coast Coalition live in concert.  The card will consist of the S.C.C., Someone Called Heno, T-Bo, Mike da Hustla, and Emperah Nero aka MC Nero.  The show will start @ 10pm with a $5 admission.

CONCERT DATE: Sat, May 16th @ Club Nite Life.  Dirty South Productions will host the first hip hop night ever @ Club Nite Life.  The show will feature the South Coast Coalition, Someone Called Heno, T-Bo, and Mike da Hustla.  A group, to be named later, will be added to the card within the week.  This show will start @ 10pm with a $5 admission.  Also, be sure to pick up a copy of "The Connection" in a store near you.  This Baton Rouge based magazine contains headlines, interviews, pics, and album reviews of nationwide, as well as local artists.

CONCERT DATE:  Sat, May 27th @ The Caterie.
  This will be a 2 show concert. The card will consist of S.C.C., Deez Nutz, and Soldier V.  The first show is for all ages and will start @ 6pm.  The 18+ show will start around 10pm.  Also, be on the lookout for Emperah Nero's new LP, From da South to da WorldThe CD has over 20 tracks and will feature the S.C.C.



April 2000

CONCERT DATE:  Sat, April 15th @ Rockets Roadhouse.  Dirty South Productions presents the South Coast Coalition live in concert.  The card will also consist of Someone Called Heno, T-Bo, Mike da Hustla, and Emperor Nero aka MC Nero.  The show will start @ 10PM with a $5 admission.  Also, if you havent picked it up yet, the T-Bo and Mike da Hustla album, Who Dem Boys?, is in stores now.  If you can't find the CD in a store near you, email us to get a copy.

CONCERT DATE:  Fri, April 28th @ The Caterie.  The South Coast Coalition
will appear live at The Caterie's Annual Battle of the Bands in Baton Rouge. Someone Called Heno will also make an appearance.  Speaking of Heno, the long awaited LP, Lost and Confused, will be completed this week and will be out in stores soon.  It has a total of 18 tight tracks.  The S.C.C. is featured on 4 of the 18 songs.



March 2000

This month, The S.C.C. and L.G. have collaborated on the three following tracks: "Die For The Cause", "Club *Hit", and "Turn It Up".  L.G. is featured on "Die For The Cause" and "Club *Hit".  L.G. produced all three tracks, which both will probably appear on the next South Coast release.

Deez Nutz have released their first project, They Call Us Deez Nutz, on their label, DNZ Productions.  The EP features a guest appearances by Lil Witness and Droopy from the group Before N Afta.



February 2000

CONCERT DATE:  Thurs, Feb 10th @ Shanahans.  The South Coast Coalition will perform live in Lafayette, LA.  The admission is $5, and the show will start at 10pm.  The card will also consist of Heno, Deez Nutz, and Hydrovibe.  Shanahans is located on the strip across the street from the Keg.

CONCERT DATE
:  Sat, Feb 12th @ The Caterie. 
The South Coast Coalition will be performing in 2 seperate shows at The Caterie in Baton Rouge, LA.  This will be the first time in 25 years that The Caterie has hosted a hip hop show.  The line-up, as of now, will consist of DeeZ NuTz, South Coast Coalition, Heno, T-Bo, and Rumblefish.  The first show will be from 6-9pm and the cost will be $7.  Later that night, a second show at The Caterie will take place.  The late show will start @ 10pm with a $5 admission.  The same lineup will play for both shows.



January 2000

The South Coast Coalition have started recording on their next full length project.  In the months ahead, we will list any guest appearances and producers.  At this point, three tracks have been completed.

Starting next month (Feb), the South Coast Coalition plan to get back to doing a few concerts.  Check the news section for the exact date, time, and venue.  All shows will also be listed on The BOX once every hour.
